Description
Just a few plants in 8cm pots
Campanula ‘Pritchards Variety’ has large clustering heads of deep violet blue star shaped flowers on branching stems throughout summer. The medium green leaves are lance shaped and set off the beautiful blooms.
Note that these seeds may produce pink, white or pale blue flowers as they are open pollinated.
The large clusters of flowers appear from February to May, and the plants grow to about 60 cm with a spread of about 60 cm, and the display is spectacular in the mid border of the garden, with bees and butterflies flocking to them.
This is an old cottage garden classic, which has always been appreciated for its stately elegance, and it comes up every year flowering prolifically for you with no care required whatsover.
Campanula lactiflora likes sun or partial shade, in moist but well drained fertile soil. This will encourage plenty of growth and flowers.
It will retain its flower colour best in partial shade, and makes an excellent , no fuss cut flower. It will flower in its first year from seed if planted in early spring.
