This is an old fashioned cottage garden flower which has clusters of rich blue-purple tubular nodding flowers. it prefers full sun and well drained moderately fertile soil. It makes an excellent cut flower and works well with other flowers in the garden border
Sowing advice
Soak the seeds overnight in tepid water.Sow seeds in spring about 6 weeks before the last frost ,at around 18-20C in pots or later when the soil has warmed up direct into the garden, cover with a thin layer of soil and keep moist. Germination takes 5-20 days at about 20 deg C.
