This is a wonderful mixture by Jelitto seeds of open pollinated New Millennium Delphiniums from especially selected stock originally from New Zealand. There is a wide range of colour shades, outstanding colours and flower shapes with magnificently full blossoms, stable and strong flower stalks. The plants have vigorous growth, and are winter hardy. They also tolerate warmer and humid climates very well. They make good cut flowers, and flower in the first year from seed, about 6 months after germination. They are an amazingly hardy plant and take little care once they are established .
Sowing advice
Sow the seeds on moist seed raising mix in pots or trays. Keep at about 22 deg C. Don’t cover the seeds, just press them into the mix, as they require light to germinate. Keep them moist , but don’t over water them. To conserve moisture you can cover them with a plastic film, but take this off immediately that the first seed germinates . They should start to germinate in about 2 weeks but can be erratic and take up to 4 weeks.
