This is a very attractive foxglove, which, when out in flower invites comment from almost all who see it. The tall spires of small cylinder shaped chocolate coloured flowers are set off handsomely by the glossy dark green foliage. Digitalis parviflora will flower in its second year from seed.
Sowing advice
Sow in spring, summer and autumn indoors or outdoors
Sow onto moist seed raising mix. Do not cover as light is needed for germination. Water from the bottom of pots to avoid disturbing the seed. Keep moist but not waterlogged. Cover with a glass tray or clear film to keep the moisture in. Germination takes 14-21 days at 15 – 18 deg C.
