Eryngium planum ‘Blue Cap’ plants

This plant has large clusters of steel-blue flowers, which are somewhat prickly but are extremely attractive.
It is a valuable plant for the border or for cutting. ]The flowers  are excellent both as a cut flower and can be used fresh or dried. It can be divided quite easily in early spring. Eryngium planum is also a valuable adaptable  plant , being able to tolerate hot, dry places, and salty soils . It is attractive to butterflies.
