This geum has very large double flowered blooms of scarlet red. It is an excellent cut flower which tolerates drought so long as it is grown in a good soil. It is a Fleuroselect Award winner . It flowers in its first year from seed, about 5 months after germination, and it also makes an excellent container plant..
Sowing advice
Sow under glass in late winter and spring, Sow in pots or trays
Sow into moist well-drained seed raising mix. Just cover the seed with seed mix. Keep at 18– 23 degrees C. Germination should occur in about 3-4 weeks. When the seedling has 2 true leaves, transplant into 7.5cm pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 10 to 15 days before planting out. Plant approx. 40cm apart.
