Hippeastrum ‘Gervase’ – (Amaryllis lily)
This is a very pretty hippestrum which can be used as a pot plant or planted out in warmer areas of new Zealand.
Hippeastrum Gervase is an attractive large flower which has red/pink stripes on a lighter pink background. It makes a very good pot plant but can also be grown outside in warmer areas of New Zealand, and is an easy care plant.
There could be an interesting mixture in these seeds as Gervase was grown near red, striped and orange hippeastrums.
Sow in seed trays or pots in seed raising mix. Just cover lightly with soil, and keep moist at a temperature of between 18 and 22 degrees C in a well-lit position. Seeds should germinate within 2 to 6 weeks but may take longer so do not discard the seed tray. Pot on small seedlings into 3″ or 7cm pots until of a size suitable for final planting into a large pot or outside.
