Ipomoea quamoclit is an annual climber which has bright red star shaped flowers above beautiful fine fern-like leaves. The plant flowers through summer and right into autumn until the first frosts. It is attractive to beneficial insects , and is a fast and vigorous grower , so can be used for hiding unsightly objects.

Sowing advice for Ipomoea
Sow in spring . Sow in cell pots as they don’t like their roots disturbed when transplanting . Cover with soil to 4 cm deep. Keep the soil well-watered but not soggy. Germination will occur usually in approx. 14 days at 20C . Support is needed when transplanting as they are a climber.
