Description
These are the newest hybrids of Iris kaempferi ( ensata ) from Japan. This irsis was awarded the Roysal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit. flowers are up to 20 cm wide and the colour palette mix is an array of wonderful colours.
Sowing advice
Sow the seed at any time, but it is probably best sown in the autumn. Sow into pots or trays and cover with moist seed raising mix and keep at 18-22 deg C. for 4 weeks Then put the pot/tray into a sealed plastic bag to conserve moisture and keep at approx 4 deg C ( fridge or if you are in a frosty area then just leave outside uncovered with plastic ) for 8 weeks. If in fridge then bring out of fridge to about 12 deg C for germination.
