Description

This cheery little plant is useful to give a lift to a drab section of a garden .  It has bright scarlet red flowers which are produced abundantly above dark green leaves which have a reddish tint to them.  It flowers in the first year from seed, if planted in early spring under cover, and will keep flowering  throughout the summer if you deadhead it. It  makes a very good cut flower .

Sowing advice

Sow the seeds on the surface of moist seed raising mix, in pots or trays.  Do not cover the seeds as light aids their germination. Keep the seeds moist and at about 20 deg C. they should germinate in about 2-3 weeks
