Sowing advice
Sow late winter and spring or in autumn. Plants resent being disturbed, so it is best to sow directly where they are to grow, but can be sown in pots. Transplant them as soon as they can be handled .
Outdoors: Sow 3mm deep. Sow thinly when temperatures reach around 18°C. Rake to a fine tilth before sowing. Seeds germinate in 10-20 days. Thin out to 23cm apart by early summer.
Indoors: Sow 4-6 weeks before the last frost. Also can be sown in autumn where winters are mild. Cover lightly with soil and keep moist .
