This handsome candelabra type primula has red flowers and grows naturally along stream banks in its native South Western China. Primula x bulleesiana seeds produce plants which like  moist situations and will not tolerate lime based soil. Sowing advice

Sow in  summer and autumn. Sow in pots or trays. Sow onto moist seed raising mix. Do not cover as light is needed for germination. Water from the bottom of pots to avoid disturbing the seed. Keep moist but not waterlogged. Ideal temp 18- 20 deg C. If germination does not occur within 4 weeks, enclose the tray in a sealed plastic bag and put into the fridge for 4 weeks.  After this remove the plastic and bring out to the warmth. Keep moist.
