Categories: Flowers for Cutting, S - Flower Seeds - S
Description
This scabiosa is one of the darkest red ones with almost-nearly black flowers. The colour is great as a contrast with other colours and it makes an excellent cut flower. As you can see in the picture, the monarchs just love it in our garden.
Sowing advice
Sow in Spring and summer in seed trays or pots. Sow indoors into a moist well-drained seed raising mix. Cover very thinly as the seeds need light to germinate. Propagate at 18 -23 deg C. Germination takes 5-14 days. Transplant seedlings once large enough at 35-40 cm apart after danger of frost has passed.
