Description
This plant has lilac flowers in clusters. The seed pod forms a golf ball sized structure on slender stems which matures to a golden caramel colour with very attractive radial markings. This is used as a cut flower in floral and dried flower work.
Sowing advice
Sow in Spring and summer. Sow in seed trays or pots
Sow into a moist well-drained seed compost. Cover very thinly as the seeds need light to germinate. Propagate at 18 -23 deg C. Germination takes 5-14 days. Transplant seedlings once large enough at 35-40 cm apart after danger of frost has passed
