This  lovely plant is like a fairy hollyhock . It has  beautiful,  delicate flowers on strong stems up to about 1 metre.  It forms a bushy basal plant and the flowers are produced on multiple stems . The flowers come in shades of pinks and lavender and purples , and sometimes a cream and white  as well.  They  make an excellent and long lasting cut flower. Also they perform  magnificently in the garden and this plant deserves to be better known. It can be grown in the mid border where they  will form a substantial clump , producing their  airy delicate flowers in profusion.  Sidalcea plants are easy to grow and don’t suffer from  the rust that  their bigger cousins. the hollyhocks often succumb to.
