This plant has long handsome spires of white or very rarely pale blue flowers. The flowers are quite like those of a blue veronica in form. They are dramatic when plants are fully in flower in mid summer. They can grow to approximately 175 cm and like a moist soil. It is an easy and adaptable plant requiring little care when established.
It will grow in full sun to part shade in most soils. It does not spread very far and stays in a compact mound , and does not require staking
Sowing advice
Seeds are extremely small and fine . Sow on the surface of moist seed raising mix. keep moist , but not waterlogged. Water from the bottom of the tray. If there is no germination within 3-4 weeks put the pot into a plastic bag, together with a tag which has the date of entry, seal it , and leave in the door or vege compartment of the fridge for 4 weeks. Then take out of fridge and keep at 18-20 deg C. in a light position ( but not direct sun). If you live in frosty areas then sow in autumn and leave outside over winter.
