Description
Zinnia ‘Gigantica Coral’ picture thanks to http://www.hazzardsgreenhouse.com
Zinnia ‘Gigantica Coral’ has very large 12 cm coral pink flowers on a well branched bush. It makes a great garden display lasting right through the autumn in northern regions until the first frost. It also makes an excellent cut flower with long strong stems, and you will love the way it will mingle with most flower arrangement colour schemes.

Sowing advice
Zinnia like a sunny, sheltered position and don’t like to be moved. Sow them from the end of October to the end of November when the soil is warming up. You can sow them direct where they are to grow or in pots or trays , however we prefer to sow them in the pots or trays because we lose alot of seedlings to slugs and snails outdoors.
Direct sowing : Sow the seeds 3mm deep in drills, 30cm apart into well prepared soil that has been raked to a fine tilth. Follow this by watering them regularly. Germination takes 7-14 days, and when they are large enough to handle, thin them to 25cm spacing.
In pots or trays : Sow the seeds Sep-Oct into moist seed raising mix in pots and trays, at temp. 15-25°C. When they are large enough to handle transplant them to cell pots , and grow on in cooler conditions. After they are ready to plant out , acclimatise them for 10-15 days and plant them out after danger of frost has passed.
