These are lovely flowers in soft ivory tones. They are mostly double but there will be some semi double flowers . This is one of the best zinnias for powdery mildew resistance. They have long strong stems and the flowers are about 7cm wide. Zinnia ‘Oklahoma Ivory’ plants perform magnificently in the garden lasting through late summer into autumn ( later in the North) and are an excellent cut flower.
Sowing advice
Sow outdoors in spring and summer when the soil is warming up. Sow indoors Sep-Oct.For best results sow zinnia where they are to flower (they like a sunny, sheltered position and don’t like to be moved), but they can also be sown indoors in cell pots.
Outdoors: Sow 3mm deep in drills 30cm apart into well prepared soil that has been raked to a fine tilth. Water regularly. Germination takes 7-14 days.
Indoors: Sow into seed raising mix at temp. 15-25°C. Cover with 3mm soil. When large enough to handle transplant and grow on in cooler conditions. Acclimatise 10-15 days and plant out after danger of frost has passed.
